CAAP Action Description

Develop policies and incentive programs to implement energy efficiency retrofits for existing residential, commercial, and industrial buildings, such as upgrading lighting and replacing energyintensive appliances and equipment with more-efficient systems (such as Energy Star-rated equipment and equipment controllers). Continue to implement Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) program to promote energy efficiency retrofits.

Launch "What to do with it when you're done with it" Lightbulb replacement program in partnership with Landfill, providing free LED lightbulb replacements for CFL bulbs and tube fluorescent bulbs.

Status of Implementation
In November of 2025, the Yolo County Integrated Waste Management Division launched the "What to do with it when you're done with it" Lightbulb replacement program in partnership with the Sustainability Division, providing free LED lightbulb replacements for CFL bulbs and tube fluorescent bulbs. In 2025, the Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) was moved under to the Sustainability Division. Staff will work on updating PACE's website content and creating educational materials.
