In March 2026, the Northern Rural Energy Network (NREN) submitted its 2028-2031 Business Plan (BP) to the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC). The 2028-2031 BP recommends expanding the NREN service territory to include Yolo County. If approved by the CPUC, funding from NREN would enable Yolo County and Valley Clean Energy to provide an expanded suite of electrification rebates and incentives to residential and commercial customers beginning in 2028.
