The County is working with landowners of identified riparian forests along Putah and Cache Creeks and their tributaries as well as the mainstream riparian areas and floodplains of the Sacramento River and Yolo Bypass. This has resulted in one acre of restorative tree planting and two acres of invasive species culling within the identified riparian forest areas between July 1, 2024 and June 30, 2025.
This action restores riparian forests through invasive species culling, native riparian tree planting, and restoration of water flows in and around streams, ponds, and other riparian forest areas identified above.
Goals: In 2027 5% of riparian acreage created/restored/protected, By 2030: 20%, and By 2045: 70%.
Cache Creek Area Plan (CCAP): County-adopted plan guiding habitat protection, restoration, and land use along Cache Creek.
