In 2026, the YCFC&WCD and County are hosting Willow Slough Watershed Restoration Collaboration meetings in partnership with Yolo County RCD and Center for Land-Based Learning (CLBL) to collaborate with landowners on how we can improve maintenance in the slough network and how riparian vegetation can be restored to reduce erosion and levee impacts from large storm evenets and increase infiltration into the aquifer. As of December 2025, the State Water Board has included Cache Creek and YCFC&WCD's water rights in the Healthy Rivers and Landscapes Program (HRL), which will protect water rights in the Cache Creek watershed and will increase flows in Putah Creek for salmon restoration. YCFC&WCD is partnering with Solano County Water Agency, UC Davis, and Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation for implementing the Putah Creek HRL Program.
