CAAP Action Description

Replace gas-powered landscape equipment with zero-emission landscaping equipment at County facilities and install charging facilities where needed. Equipment types historically powered by gasoline engines covered by this action include chainsaws, chippers, lawn mowers, leaf blowers/ vacuums, riding mowers, tillers, and trimmers.

Status of Implementation
County staff are monitoring efforts at neighboring jurisdictions trials and use of electric landscape equipment. At this time County staff have concerns about the market maturity of such equipment for use at large parks and/or remote open space parks.
